Dennis C. Dickerson é professor de História da Universidade Vanderbilt e membro do Departamento de Pós-Graduação em Religião. Obteve título de bacharel pela Universidade de Lincoln (Pennsylvania) e de mestre e Ph.D. pela Universidade de Washington. Escreveu Out of the Crucible: Black Steel Workers in Western Pennsylvania, 1875-1980 (Albany, University New York, 1986) e Militant Mediator: Whitney M. Young, Jr. (Lexington, University Press of Kentucky, 1998). Seu próximo trabalho pela University Press of Mississipi é Protestant Preachers in the Public Square: The Careys of Chicago. É também o Historiador da Igreja Episcopal Metodista Africana e editor do A.M.E. CHURCH REVIEW, fundado em 1884.

 

Dennis C. Dickerson is Professor of History at Vanderbilt University and member of the faculty of the Graduate Department of Religion. He earned the B.A. from Lincoln University (Pennsylvania) and the M.A. & Ph.D. at Washington University . He wrote Out of the Crucible: Black Steel Workers in Western Pennsylvania , 1875-1980 (Albany, State University of New York Press, 1986) and Militant Mediator: Whitney M. Young, Jr. (Lexington, University Press of Kentucky, 1998). His forthcoming work, under contract to the University Press of Mississippi, is Protestant Preachers in the Public Square: The Careys of Chicago. He is also the Historiographer of the African Methodist Episcopal Church and Editor of the A.M.E. CHURCH REVIEW, founded in 1884.
